Radical Arts and Healing Collective (RAHC) "officially" started on a cold January evening in 2016. At co-founding core member Ann-Meredith's Upper 9th Ward home, we broke bread and drank spicy hot chocolate to begin dreaming, scheming and visioning an intersectional, intergenerational, multiracial arts and healing centered community space rooted in New Orleans, intended to serve the greater Gulf South and beyond.
From March 2016 until December 2016, we had a 3600 square foot warehouse space in the Upper 9th Ward on Montegut Street - where somehow for a little while there, we were sharing a bathroom with Solange. We were grateful to host art builds and events for quite a few local, regional and national groups during that short time, including the Congress of Day Laborers, Stand With Dignity, Fight for $15, Black Land and Liberation Initiative, BreakOUT, Another Gulf Is Possible and more. We are currently seeking a new home, and in the meantime hope we can continue to be a resource to our movement family. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have an action, a project, initiative or idea you seek support on, we'd love to help if we can.
Our current core collective members are:
Jayeesha Ragini Dutta
Leah Hope Fishbein
Jessica Anne Wheeler
* Maya and Mica, Rachael and Walid's children, are also considered part of our collective.
In many ways, our individual stories have led us in different ways to RAHC and you will be able to learn more about each core collective member below - soon.
